Arguably you can get (even more reliable) version pinning by copying typescript from that random URL & storing it in your own S3 bucket. Sure, you have _some_ work to do, but it's not that much and you 100% control the code from th

Really - do we have to immediately "think of the children!" ? How about "we need to monitor all your communications, for public safety reasons. And also in order to prevent children pornography, I guess". Would this also

You should remind yourself that a good manager is there to support you/ make your job easier and more relevant. A manager is not your master. No manager is embarrassed to have an assistant younger than them, so neither should you be a

Don't know - and I suspect it's heavily dependent on location. Also, if I may add, it's heavily influenced by "production" of programmers (it's really not that old of a job, 40 years ago not that many programme

Am a programmer. Mid 40s, switched jobs to a better one not long ago(was headhunted/didn't actively look for it). Still coding, don't really plan to stop soon. I guess it depends for everyone, and yes lots of people prefer to

In baseball the average retirement age is 32, maybe slightly more recently - so yeah, 26-27 is "mid-career". For your analogy to work, there would have to be no programmers that are 60years old, and very few that are above 40.

You absolutely will. In a modern car, at 50kmph you'll be largely ok. At 80kmph (50mph), not so much, but maybe you'll survive. At 80mph, you won't survive.

You can say that, but there are enough hints that you'd be wrong: - Tip habits differ a lot; various online debates and movie references show that there are "assholes" that don't tip (or don't tip well enough?). Fro

Ref 3: 1. Prices in USD 2. Quotes Philly Mag. (Philladelphia?) 3. Mentions how generous tipping is required to help servers survive Yeah, of course one would assume it’s about US. I’m honestly very surprised if it isn’t.

I honestly don't understand how home schooling is supposed to work. I mean, primary school maybe (though even there I seriously doubt the capacity of most parents, but whatever, we could handle that). But secondary school & beyond?

I know, it wasn't obvious to me that elteto talked exclusively about C/C++. AFAIK few -if any- compilers/VMs take it upon themselves to reorder struct members (even outside C/C++ world).

How do you even define "non-wasted ads"? One ad = one buy? One ad = one interested person? Targeted ads, even imperfectly-targeted ones, are "less wasted" than other kinds of ads. They are not perfect, by far (thankfully
