Established companies are notoriously bad at the pace at which they respond to users - so don't worry about the fast that you have an established company entering the space. The bigger challenge in my opinion is that this is a two side

Thanks! But even if it is not being used yet - do we know if Facebook uses Typescript (or some extension of it)?

Sounds like more of the pieces of React/Flux are being opensourced. :-) Interesting to see references to TypeScript. Is it prevalent at FB?

My 2 cents - You have software built, now comes the challenging part of actually building a business around it. There are lots of things that you can do, I would suggest making all of the below equal priorities going forward: - Meet your cu

I am not a lawyer, and you should talk to one. But, before that - there are a couple of thoughts that might help: You should have a broad agreement before you go to the lawyer. Are you thinking about a 50% share in the company or a 1% share

Hmmm... wondering if it will be a good idea to put the book on a wiki so that the community can update it and improve it.

In the context of the above: Here's a question to the experienced entrepreneurs. If a startup wants to take on Blackboard. What would be a good way to go about doing it?

Lots of thoughts, but basically find the fun in coding. Build Apps in Android, they are also Java based. Try coding challenges, www.hackermeter.com was just launched and they seem cool. Play with new frameworks - things like Play Framework

Sounds like they may not have had a high enough viral coefficient as they would have wanted. So they felt like it was not worth investing more in product development or marketing. Definitely impressed that they had the discipline to shut it

I believe they were running out of money and needed to do more work to bring revenues appropriately up. Yahoo allows them to not need to focus on revenues, as they already have a large and established an ad sales team.

They are building a social network for families. So they don't need to have lots of users, just a large part of a few families to have the network effect tested.
