I think a country can not exist with just big cities, or at least it should not be forced to. Small towns will always be more expensive than cities to maintain, this should not mean that small towns should then get less facilities. It'

This is turning into a discussion about naming, which is important. I think the sprints are maybe wrongly worded, but I struggle to find a better term. User stories are not actual stories with a plots as well, but the idea makes sense

This was my experience with canonical. I made it through the interview process to the offer stage and the offer was far from competitive for my country (the Netherlands). Was bit bummed about this, I would love to work for canonical as they

I dont understand the multiple cursors, is this better than search and replace? I am guessing you are replacing it to the same thing at every cursor, but I guess the value is then that the from could be different at the cursors?

I fully agree. Money is not free anymore, and investors want to see a path-to-profitablity. No one wants to dump millions into a possible profitable idea.

20k for 10 weeks is a pretty decent salary, even in the EU. Might not be super competitive for short term work but it's definitely enough to live on in most places.

That is not anti-developer, but definitely anti-opensource. As a developer I dont really care my code is used to make copilot better and sold in that way.

Pricing means you pirate media because you dont want to pay for it. Service problems means you pirate stuff because it's too inconvenient to do it legally, and easier to pirate stuff.

I think this is true for the majority of people, and I think music streaming is the example of this. I know almost no people who still pirate music, everyone has spotify. The competition between services (tidal, deezer) seems to be fought o

I sometimes run into rebases where solving merge conflicts 3 times is hard. Replaying 3 commits for instance, where merge conflicts are present in each one. In the first I need to fix the merge conflict but remind myself that there are more

Not trying to hate on PHP, but deployment is one of the features that is so great with Go. It's about on the same level of abstraction as PHP and it's just a breeze to deploy stuff.

I think this is the key to genetic success. When you are able to train this much you get results. It´s not that you are genetically able to skate fast, it´s that you are genetically able to train on a level that you can get there. I get his

I'm curious, what is the "Dutch money culture"? I haven't used paper money in ages, is that specifically Dutch or are you hinting at something else?

For context, in the Netherlands (where Mollie was founded) sending payment requests by text took off when one bank set up a service geared for consumers that provided this (Tikkie [1]). Mobile payments were common place before this, so cust

The Dropbox and Spotify examples are ridiculous. They offer a lot more and a lot more usability than the comparison. But Slack basically is just IRC with pictures right? What extra value does slack give me other than a decent web client?

Is leaving lights in the house you sell an American thing? Unless it's built in lights like spots, all the bulbs and even fixtures usually move with the person where I'm from (the Netherlands).

WhatsApp will definitely be opened more than 11 times a day. I would argue the average is a lot closer to 11 times an hour than 11 times a day.

I don't think this cable contains a DAC. I would imagine they use some pins of the Lightning connector to transport Analog audio. They still need a DAC for the speaker and such.
