Although I can see the advantage of having a digital label in a lot of cases, I don't see the necessity in a museum environment. There is serious human interaction necessary to change the collection to move and change the works of art.

Amazon Echo is always looking for the keyword, something that is done locally. I think it's the same thing basically, it's a microphone constantly connected to the internet and you have to trust (or verify) it's only transmit

Even the podcast states at the end that his innocence is far from proven, but that it's not clear that he is guilty. This is another perfect case of reasonable doubt, there is not enough evidence to convict. This would make for a great

Wait - you want phone manufacturers to not put a mic on a phone by default? So you'd have to use a BT/plug in headset to call?

I agree that there is no wrong or right in this context. I do however fear that if we are unable to concentrate on media for longer periods of time, the "depth" of the media will diminish. The wonderful thing a book has over a you

Agreed, in the Netherlands dating apps are having serious troubles because Tinder is free, easy and quick. Dating apps now try to sell there "privacy aware" attributes because you don't need facebook with them (which you do n

Must see is a hard term to qualify, does this mean enjoyable documentaries or only the ones that educate. I really enjoyed The King of Kong last week. It's a documentary about the best arcade Donkey Kong players in the world and their

I fear that exactly this is the problem. There is a pretty big market for good journalism to be read online. People don't want to be bound to one source (traditional subscription) but I don't see micro transactions working here. B

I think you are right about how GitLab started. There is, and there should be, a lot of frustration about the biggest open source hub (GitHub) not being open-source themselves. This feels backwards and creates a harsh dictatorship that shou

Ikea has done that for quite a while now and is ramping it up this year. The PAX wardrobe system [1] has been an IKEA staple for many years and people are very happy with it (what I hear around me). They starting to take this concept into t

I think the main advantage of FreeNAS is the the GUI and the support tooling around this web interface. This means creating storage pools and datasets and managing those. Creating and managing jails as well as access control and sharing. It

I really like KanBan and think it's a better fit for a lot of teams than SCRUM is. SCRUM works great for teams which have a stable backlog of work and an incidental problem that might pop up. If you can't keep a backlog stable for

I think this needs a whole lot more nuance. Minister Steur said that the laws are not desirable at this time, after other cabinet members said it will hurt economic relations. This is not a statement saying we don't want this, this is

I use subsonic and like it a lot. However, it could use a webinterface update. The default is old and ugly, but works very well. Jamstash (another web interface) looks nice but doesn't work well.
