I'm not sure those are directly comparable. For YouTube you are not contributing to Joe Rogan unless you watch his videos and add views/popularity/ad revenue. Spotify, however, signed a separate contract that (AFAIK) is unrel

Re-do the exam when it is next offered. The most common math exams (e.g calculus, linear algebra) run 4 times a year so there are quite a lot of opportunities.

Ah, I see. I haven't used Chai but from what I can tell it's a service that lets you make payments through multiple methods (e.g credit card, bank transfer). I don't think they've published statistics but I'm guessi

My university had a queuing system used for presenting assignments. You could always access the page, but the queue wasn't open unless the TAs were there ready to take assignments. When the queue opened it would send a websocket messag

I live in South Korea and like to think that I keep track of the current state of fintech but I have never heard of Terra or any cryptocurrency being widely used for payments. Where is it usable?

After some googling I found a few studies that seem to show an increased risk for pilots as well, particularly skin cancer. I think the increased risk of skin cancer is interesting since that would (layman's speculation) probably be th

Even if an IDE is only a crutch for poorly designed languages, people still use those languages and an IDE is a useful tool in that scenario.

True, but for many people "lose weight" is really code for "lose body fat", since that has desirable health and aesthetic benefits.

From having eaten at McD's in Sweden and Korea I'd say the Korean McD's is miles beyond the Swedish one in every way, including tasting better and also being cheaper. In Sweden I would never eat there unless I really had no o

I agree with you, especially in instances where that decision logic is unrelated to the data that is actually being used. In your example you'd have to pass "thing" everywhere just for that if-statement, but it might not be u

If I'm not complete misunderstanding the article the launcher-only downloads only apply to Humble Trove, which isn't explicitly purchased. It's still really bad, and doesn't make any sense as a business decision, but fro

I started reading Brandon Sanderson with this mindset and I'm loving it. Before I would only really read nonfiction but I would easily get distracted and didn't read much in practice. Now I'm reading like 100 pages a day and

I do the exact same thing, though my internal monologue is like 95% English (not a native speaker). I talk to myself out loud when thinking, but my wife thinks it's weird so I only do it when alone.

I agree that there is that implicit pressure, but really it should (as in the ideal case) be fine to just say "I've been thinking about A, B, and C" and leave it at that. That still gives you the room to say that issue C has

I didn't interpret the comment to be about not working, but rather about the non-linear nature of programming work. If you have 100 documents to process then you are halfway through after 50 and it will presumably take a similar amount

I don't think that's a fair framing. As others have said, the users of the broadband pay for their bandwidth. It's not Netflix pushing data, it's the users pulling it. If you have 100 users that pay you for 1Gbps/s
