I really enjoyed the Starting Strength program (I was going to abbreviate it at first, but then realized that sounds a bit sketchy out of context), and I noticed the benefits too. The only reason I quit a few years ago is because of my conc

Angular has been pretty stable since the v4 release. I recently did an upgrade of a large enterprise app from v8 tot v15... Jumping 7 major releases, no problem with the migration tool.

I hear this critique a lot, but what exactly is that pointless boilerplate? When I write a React application, I have to use a lot of React-flavored boilerplate too... useEffect, useState, useThis and useThat... What makes this so different

The Angular API has been pretty stable for the past 6-7 years since v2 (well, since v4 if you count the Router changes), and the upgrade process between major versions is pretty smooth. Especially since the Ivy release, they've matured

The most obvious ones. I'm still very new to GIS, but I find it amazing how difficult it is to simply draw some rectangles (of some specified dimensions) and lines on a map, and cleanly label the edges with distances. Annotating, movin

Remembering nothing doesn't mean there was nothing. As I see it, there is the experience of reality from a certain frame of reference, from which the experience of "you" that makes up you (body, mind, perceptions, memories, .

If they reacted too forcefully, that could mean retaliation by Putin and escalation of the conflict into WW3. Do we really want that? As a Belgian citizen, I'd rather not wake up to artillery fire in Brussels...

I think it's not a silly conversation at all. It hints to something that is so fundamental about existence. You seem stuck in circular reasoning. The point is that when in an altered state, your conventional, "sober" model of

Indeed, this sounds highly inefficient. Say, 15% of a daily rate of 800 euro for 200 working days equals 24,000 euro, recurring every year. Seems like a ton of money for just matching a candidate with a job, given that the freelancer still

Is there a true difference between those two models though? In the end, the client has to foot the bill, no matter how the money is allocated between commission and candidate. As a recruiter, you could have a similar model for contractors a

That's an appeal to authority and we know there's a big problem with censorship right now. (Medical) doctors and professors who ask questions about the effectiveness of vaccination policy have a high chance of getting fired. In my

I've always been annoyed with JIRA's limitation of 1 task = 1 assignee, but IMHO assigning 2+ people to every task by default is overdoing it. Depending on the product and the team, many tasks can be pretty straightforward if the

This discussion has no value if you were the only one participating. Facebook has no value if there are no "friends" to interact with. My point is, the same kind of network effects that make social media valuable, are also inheren

Exactly, that's also what I try to point out to people: there are already tax mechanisms in place. Just raise tax rates if that's the goal. It seems to me with a wealth tax they just want to force everyone to work & spend fore
