Yeah, that has always weirded me out, too, but I have assumed that because Angular is one of TypeScript's largest and most significant customers, that the flag is highly unlikely to actually be removed. (?) I'm just guessing thoug

I work on a team that maintains a customer-facing web application that is built on Angular. It's been in production for the past six years. I think Angular not quite in "the graveyeard", but probably only because a lot of lar

This isn't bad advice, I don't know why you people are downvoting it into oblivion. If there is a coding challenge to advance in pursuit of an open position, and it is not paid, and it will take a significant amount of time (e.g.

I think this is right. I read Neuromancer and first came to Japan in the 1980s. IIRC the term "salaryman" wasn't yet commonly known in English. However, it was known by English-speaking people who had been to Japan, or were s

I'm not religious either, but a better analogy for a believer would be telling someone to pray or sacrifice a goat to stave off scurvy. If you really believed some nonsense, sure you'd want to not keep it to yourself, and to tell

Yeah it is perfect at 2x scaling. I drive it from Linux though (a regular Intel workstation build with an RTX 3060 video card driving it via 2 DisplayPort cables). AFAIK (and I've looked into it), there is no way to drive this monitor

My own thoughts on it are that yes, that is definitely something that should be user-controllable, but as far as I know it's not possible in VS Code. I remember the old issue below, which was closed without actually fixing that. Person

Thanks! Indeed the blog post omitted that step, probably since they already had it installed or something. Once I installed the base LSP package, and restarted Sublime, then it gave me an error[1] at startup, explaining that it couldn'

Cool. Not really trying to criticize it; just noticing that it doesn't work out of the box, and I personally have never had the time to fiddle with it to see if it can be made to work. However, since we are in the thread I googled it w

I bought Sublime Text through v3 but didn't really use it anymore, so declined to buy v4 (so far). It's interesting you mention LSP support, because that is basically why I stopped using it — the as-you-type auto-completion, error

Yeah, I am skeptical, but not totally dismissive. I would love to see those micropayments in lieu of ads work — but I have never seen a site that takes Brave tips. (Admittedly, I only use Brave for a small subset of websites.)

I do that, but it is certainly not anywhere near as easy as using Brave. I am skeptical of Brave, because their business model seems hand-wavy and their crypto shit seems skeezy. But right now, I can't think of anything offering better

Well, that becomes the interesting question. :) I started meditation about 5 months ago, via the Waking Up app by Sam Harris (after reading the book of the same name). He is extremely keen on this notion that "self is an illusion"

It's just something that happens once you learn to see the thoughts themselves arising, rather than feeling like you are thinking them. This occurs automatically, once you start meditating, typically within just a couple weeks even for

Hmm that is indeed very interesting. I’ll have to read through it more thoroughly (and Prof. Walker’s subsequent errata/responses) to make a judgement about whether the errors cited rise the the “actually, fuck that book” level or not.
