Even worse, the devices aren’t necessarily as secure as an iPhone!

The radical bit is they deliver holistic software and hardware that actually works. No other vendor comes close.

I don’t think there’s a cosmic operating system. It’s more a meta-stable Conway game of life type environment. Either that or I drank too much funky tea once.

It seems that way but I think the virtual machine (universe) we run on just has some emergent constraints on possibilities and outcomes and we are just observing them.

Navigation (compass, celestial), another spoken language, calculus refresher, photoshop, vegan cooking. Trying to avoid learning more programming things as I am entirely burned out from that.

Oh I had one of them a number of years ago on a well known e-commerce company’s back end ERP. Financial values were stored in int64 with the decimal position offset stored in a byte separately. The library that handled these values was poor

Got stuck on a call a few weeks back with a client, their IT director, CTO and their MSP telling us our product was shit. I said well show me. Some people started looking very nervous suddenly. So they took their i7 Thinkpad "terminal&

$368 is really cheap, just not consumer cheap. If you want something reasonable and cheap it's worth looking at the second hand market for the Lenovo M-series "Tiny" PCs. They're small, well made, very reliable, have hef

I moved house with 3000 CDs once. I bought an iPod the month after and sold them all. Eventually this turned into Apple Music. I hope there isn’t a CD revival because the cost, logistics, transport and storage for the things was abhorrent.

There’s some real magic in macOS now. I found the other day I can just search for “cows” in my photo library. And they are there!

I don't dislike Go myself but it taught me something important purely due to timing. It's the first language I wasn't late to the party for and got to watch grow up. But I also watched people skilfully build the same towers o

Exactly this. I’ve run SELinux on for various workloads for over a decade and have barely ever had to touch audit2allow. And what I have done is codified in ansible so you can just copy and adjust for new cases.

I don't think the user is aware that you can change the entire display scale for readability if you need to. There are also numerous mouse button remapping utilities out there.

These are all fairly trivial. There's a much larger list of things that Ubuntu says it can do but does such a bad job of it that I can't use it. Oh and Lightroom, Pixelmator and Excel don't work on Ubuntu.

See associated student manual. Reading that alongside it is what you are supposed to do if you are learning. Ultimately the first few chapters should be stepped through carefully as they are not a reference but a fundamental list. The very

The problem is that line of thinking only scales to when things work using the very basic level of abstraction presented. A 150W audio amplifier is a surprisingly difficult thing to get working right, even with an off the shelf IC. You have

Ok found a PDF and scanned through it. This appears to be a rehash of older material, going back as far as the 90s, as I recognise some of the graphics and explanations. Newnes seem to make a great effort to retitle and reuse stuff in this

They have legendary status but they aren’t very good books. In some cases they are quite misleading. Unfortunately I don’t think there’s anything better out there yet at that level. I remember having to unlearn stuff when I progressed past

GitHub has ruined my lunch or dinner time at least once a week or so for the last three months in some capacity. I am absolutely fucked off with it now. Centralising on this infra was a stupid technical decision.

Apart from the fact you’re illuminating the target with a massive RF source and broadcasting the location of the transmitter. So no it is a silly idea.
