Who is this targeting? An engineer already saves far more than this moving to a lower income tax state with lower COL (e.g. Washington, Nevada, Texas).

It's a major problem if you don't already commute by car, which is a lot of the City. Don't forget that driving to HQ often is slower than however people currently get there.

Sounds like that CEO might be paying himself too little. Fwiw, housing prices (rents) have barely budged in much of the Bay Area for the past 4 years. If the exodus hasn't already happened, I doubt it will.

This is a fair summary, but you can't divorce the protesters actions from the fact that there is no legitimate way for the protesters to alter the government. These protests were inevitable as the government basically lacks legitimacy

I agree in areas with tough weather, cars make more sense. But in moderate places, e.g. the entire West coast of the US, I find it a non-issue to bike nearly every day

True, but a lot of those marginal benefits (over say electric bikes) exist because our society ended up being designed around everyone having a car. This manifests itself in several ways: 1. Low-density sprawl. Without the auto, density wou

I wouldn't expect frontend to get random DP questions at any company (well you never know with Google..) I interviewed a couple of years ago at Lyft (for a backend team) and definitely got FAANG-class systems whiteboard questions.
