Like most things with climate change, it's not about banning X action. It's about discouraging it. The more accurate question is how does everyone respond if the cost of flying doubles? How many business trips can be handled by VC

Agreed if there were no other side effects. However, since both NIMBY owners occupying their home and renters hate AirBnB, it's quick to imagine anti-airbnb legislation (like what SF already has) quickly passed if the tide turned.

Dropbox never before supported symlinks as symlinks. (It would sync the target folder even if the target was in Dropbox, duplicating data). Now symlinks are understood by the server, but ones targeting content outside Dropbox break.

To be fair, in America, if you haven't been able to save enough money before having a kid to last three months unpaid, I'm not sure how you plan to survive after having a kid.

Yes it is; 12 weeks per FMLA. True, it is unpaid, but the job protection is there.

Average occupancy is only relevant from a system view. If I'm driving my own car, it's the actual occupancy that matters. So yes, if I'm traveling solo, a plane beats car. But with multiple people, car wins.

No. Not all hospitals are willing to offer discounts. Sometimes, the cash price is higher than the insurance rate (which is negotiated). It's pretty hard to pull off an external company since many hospitals won't even tell you wh

There's a $200 threshold for reporting gains. Almost no one hits that while traveling. Crypto is basically different because the high volatility resulted in large gains being realized. Source: publication 525 https://www.irs

Why should not that not be considered taxable income? If it wasn't taxable income, you'd incentive students taking unnecessary loans senior year so they could get tax free income the subsequent one. Which accomplishes nothing but

At least as if last Sep, no. I actually called customer service. Wechat pay is an option though; you just need to find a Chinese national that will send your account money.

Is this a loop hole or intentional? I'm guessing wechat doesn't care to optimize the visitor experience. Has it ever been different? Afaik, it's as limited as it always was; they just added identity verification.

For WeChat pay, you can always directly exchange RMB for USD (say with venmo). There's websites to facilitate this if you don't have a Chinese contact.

Define "work"? Dropbox has never sync'd a symlink as a symlink - it follows then on the client machine and a copy is created on the server. (Source: worked there)
