Nice post! Also, not everyone knows that even the much-maligned old C does this. It's a huge red flag/cringe when someone breaks out memcpy() just to copy a struct value (or return it, obviously).

Great read, thanks! One minor meta point if the author is (still) around: there is something strange with the styling of the hexadecimal literals in the code. Instead of having the prefix "0x", they look like "0×" even t

I agree, but am amazed that you didn't include on-board flash, too. I definitely miss that in the feature set (but have barely used the RP2040 so perhaps I'm just shouting at the clouds).

Great list, thanks! For original models, often with advanced and beautiful moving parts, JK Brickworks [1] is great, too. 1: https://www.youtube.com/@JKBrickworks

Just to save folks a whole click or two, it's $750 which does seem ... steep but I'm not into retro computing (yet, a part of my brain feels like adding). I've heard it mentioned on Youtube ("8-bit guy", I think) bu

This is a bit of a pet peeve with anonymous Internet writing, but: are we supposed to know when you were at university? Do you know when I was? Why not state something like the number of decades or whatever? And yeah, a void * is how you ex

In case it's not known to everyone, the title is an obvious nod to "I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream" [1], a 1960s US sci-fi story by Harlan Ellison. 1: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/I_Have_No_Mouth,_an

Fun! Here in Sweden, it's a bit difficult with the Häagen-Dazs premium ice cream brand, since they have some kind of phony-Scandinavian spelling that doesn't actually match any proper word (the vowel sequence Ä-A is really really

I didn't read the domain, and was first a bit upset that the OP apparently flew to visit a store[1], but then realized that it's Mr Geerling (I don't follow him) so I guess it's more of a work thing, at least. 1: Yes I

I would argue that one good point of the article is to illustrate to its readers just what it means, that compilers assume code to be free of undefined behavior. The resulting "reasoning" can be counter-intuitive, and seeing what
