Not sure this is true. The registration documents claim shares can only be traded in 50,000 share blocks (called "Baskets", approx worth $1 million at launch) and you have to be a registered broker-dealer (with a bunch of other ri

According to the filing, they have a 50,000 share minimum, which works out to $1 million at IPO price. Going to buy a few of those $1 million lots on a whim?

I bet things haven't changed as much as you think. It was probably pretty rare back then to find the right person working for the right boss. And it's equally rare today. And I would disagree with the second point. I've hired

Does anyone else find it funny that Google will work with Sony to sell this movie, but the hacked emails reveal how Sony is going after Google (Project Goliath) to get them to censor search results? Strange bedfellows...

For the sake of a handful of older profitable works, all works will forever be held back from the public domain. Better that you concede Mickey Mouse and let the rest benefit society as public works.

Can't speak to "insane prices". But Patrick got AppointmentReminder.org for $8. He classifies it as the best ROI he's ever made. "cars.com" is still the #1 result for searching "cars". And "busin

The point stands that there is a well-established, well-funded and well-connected group protecting copyright, so going against it in any form will not be easy. If a citizen tries to get copyright law amended through the courts, they will fa

Getting a Masters of French History degree, with $100,000 in student debt, is what people object to. Nothing against French History, but paying $100,000 on a credit card to learn it is not "investment in your brain". Investment im
