A lot of the old world's benefit was the gatekeeping of (legitimate) knowledge and understanding. You had to spend a lot of time to grok it, and you could then exploit this for money. LLMs completely kill this gatekeeping, for good or

IMO, this is vibeable with tauri, with some reverse engineering of this. Worth a shot to oneshot these, fable and opus would chew through this and give a FOSS project I think in under 20$ token cost.

The elephant in the room is that the choice today is llm limits. Tomorrow 2 engineers at 50% token time will change to 1 engineer with 100% token time for the same work.. the latter is too cost effective.

The retail account is about 200 to 300 dollars of api equivalent. Large companies disallow retail.

I agree, and empathize. But it does not answer my question. Your answer broadly is: we can be sad, I was hoping for a directive response from my parent commenter, specially towards AI at work coding. Or are they recommending revolution?

But then what would mean AI integrating into coding would be impossible? How do you resolve that with your view? We should ban AI coding?

Poor guy, no life deserves this ending. He got caught up deeper and deeper in his proclamations, painted himself into a corner, and wasn't able to reset. Does anyone know of a case where someone went through a reset and came out strong

How is it boring? There's such a wider variety of things! (or are you saying you fond the category itself is boring?)

Heres something I learnt ont eh kids side for bedtime routine: choices and consequences. You can have a discussion with them about the choice they have on bedtime, and what the likely consequence can be (getting up late, not going to school

About 3x increase. Luna is now a much better deal. Hope they don't increase their prices in response.

Not a bad idea. reduces the "blast radius" of these api keys. People leak them rampantly.

You're reading too widely for a simple point I'm making: what an engineer did in Aug 2025, they can do in a fraction of the time in Aug 2026. Everything else is something else you care about, but producitivty is simply proven for

If you think A is not happening for a software engineer's role, then you are mistaken. We are all scrambling to figure out what else we need to do (and so are many other roles).

Can you point to any place/post making this argument? I'm an active lurker here, and have not seen anyone arguing for layer-free/blob-of-code type of workflow. The fact that some teams find themselves there is simply a realiz
