LOL, Carrera GT is in a different league (~$1.5mm). 911 is kind of like a Speedmaster, it's a classic, and even a basic one is "acceptable" for most car folks. The S, GTS, GT3, etc would be the more premium. Countersignalling

I find YT premium fully worth it; the ads are horrible, and totally inturrupt watching something - enough that I pay, as I couldn't stand it otherwise. Google, less so - but I pay for Kagi as I like the results better, and prefer how t

I'm with you; I'm a paid Kagi user for a while now, and unlike various attempts at switching to duck duck go (et al), Kagi is actually fully working for me. I do not switch back to Google more than once a month, and each time I&#x

Interesting - I've been doing similar for a while (not writing about it though), but generally "self-commit" - i.e. the code in the repo commits back to itself, usuualy using github actions, or gitlab. E.g. https://

I build projects with git as the hosting and backend using code that commits back to it's own repo. Usuauly it's when I need to host, run and store things - and might want to look at historic data. Using github actions, you can do

Ya most of the modern systems for "ABS" do way more than just ABS; usually they're also trying to keep steering authority as well, for example. With a higher COG car, you have to be more careful of rollovers, so maybe can

This is super cool, and a great way to implement it - hard - but will make adoption much easier than if it had to be implemented, or installed, etc.

Yep, it's meant for queues - a kinda popular one I maintain for ruby (QueueClassic) uses it. However, you can use it outside of that - this is basically a queue to update a column; note the caveat in my original post. SKIP LOCKED will

I'd be doing the same in the case of the post; it's guarneteed to hit locks some percentage of time. Should be better than a single slot though. The whole point of the article was that idle-in-transaction due to locks on a counter

Cool, but this method will still get locks in whatever percent of cases, regardless of if there are slots not in transactions. In Postgres you can probably do this with slots using SKIP LOCKED; though in practice I belive you have to deal w

It looks and writes similarly; some simple/small things will work in both - the std lib is very similar. However, it's statically typed (though, mostly/partitally interfered; aka sometimes you don't need to specify), and
