I would guess that anyone who describes academic papers as not being full of "crap" or who describes source code as "beautiful" has read neither. To learn something, I read books , like textbooks. But maybe that's just me.

That's a nice abstract argument. The facts are otherwise. If the US shows up with a video of Assange killing someone it will have been made on a Hollywood renderfarm. We know that because we know that the US is bent on hunting Assange down

Well the connection to Israel IS bad, but in this case it's more like a connection to Mossad . If you can't work out why that's bad, try substituting Russian FSB , Iranian Revolutionary Guards or Chinese PSB for Mossad in the sent

The problem is not when programmer (A) writes the code and the comments correctly. Nor when jackass(B) updates the code and not the comments, making them misleadingly worse than no comments at all. But when the code now has to be maintained

You have your definitions confused. Critical software leads to people's death when it goes wrong. Mission critical software leads to the mission 's death when it goes wrong. Where the mission is usually "make money".

Try being a raghead like me and going through transport security in Europe, then going through it in the USA, then comparing the experience. You may be disillusioned.
