I attended one special lecture by Prof. Bose while at MIT. I can't remember the subject matter specifically -- something about acoustics. But I remember the feeling of the man: humble, wise, noble. This news reminds me of that feeling.

From this description, the mainstream view seems to subscribe to the discredited Lamarckian view of evolution, i.e. the idea that traits acquired during parents lifetime (e.g. bigger brains from eating meat) can be transmitted to offspring.

I think it does casually suggest that there should have been a test for the '/' literal, which seems simplistic. In addition to testing for google.com, a more robust test might be to assert that >90% (or some such threshhold) of results
