Discriminating based on location for 100% remote work is opening up a big can of worms. Since in this case physical location isn't material to the work, paying less based on location could be inadvertently discriminatory. For instance,

There is very little direct benefit to US consumers from chip cards. Sure, it will reduce fraud, but from a consumers point of view it doesn't matter. By federal law, unless the bank can prove negligence, they have to refund your money

The article mentions a decline in teeneger licenses. A big part of this is graduated licensing programs that most (all?) states introduced. Why get a license if you can only effectively use it to get to/from school?

They recently implemented a similar ban in Chicago. Now stores just give out thick "reusable" plastic bags. The whole thing has been an all around failure: it's strictly worse for the environment and consumers indirectly pay

Last time I was in Germany I talked to a Thai gentleman who was an international student there. He said all of his tuition was covered, and that it was standard policy. Some Googling seems to confirm thats the case, but someone from Germany

I see lots of envy from US and UK based people, but not any thought given to the great opportunity: Germany accepts international students. Why not go to a German university and get a quality education paid for by the German taxpayer? As a

Whats missing is a sensible property tax scheme. Just tax the non-resident owners, who don't vote, at a much higher rate than city residents. Then use the extra money for great public infrastructure for people who do live in the city.
