I feel there are a lot more consumers than you might imagine, myself included. I'm on HN constantly but I rarely ever comment. The karma system is not for everyone.

My first guess would be to attempt an operation that only works if the device is rooted.

Yeah, weak map have weak references to the keys, not the values.

It helps if you keep unrelated code in separate commits. That way all you have to do is rearrange and merge commits. It gets more complicated if you have to split commits. I've been wanting to make a GUI for this purpose that allows yo

My guess is it keeps the history as linear as possible while still being able to undo the merge if necessary.

You could think of it as "death of the author". Also could be thought of as death of production.

For the load balancing system I would assume you would also want to keep the mirrors up to date as well? So for every request if mirror exists and is out of date, update it.

Would something like ProtocolBuffers[0] or FlatBuffers[1] be a good replacement for XML? The data could then be transmitted in either binary or JSON formats. [0] https://developers.google.com/protocol-buffers/ [1] htt

Would it be worth it to try to replace XMPP with something very similar but using a JSON based protocol and clean up its worts in the process?

I really don't want XMPP to die, but I'm worried that it can only go down hill after the big players ditched it. Is it possible for XMPP to make a major come back without their support? Would big players ever come back or are they
