Interesting, cutting way back in the product they renamed the whole company for. They feel a bit directionless to me. They are still making money but even their AI attempt feels half hearted. I think they are really trying but I’m not sure

To put it another way: this article isn’t about the AI fluff, it’s about the two sentences at the top the author wrote themselves. ;)

What is the development loop like with this? There’s a lot of folks successfully building games with agents already on the AI gamedev Discord server. So I’m wondering if there were some shorter paths to your goal. You might want to exchange

TBH "The Oracle" personality doesn't always bother me. There's a bunch of stuff that gets asked in corporate chat that makes me think, "does this person know how to use Google?" I think the same can be said for

Agreed. I don't even necessarily have anything against AI edited text but there's a way to sharpen your own writing and there's a way to let its voice dominate. There's a lot of idioms it tends to fall back on (em dashes

Even if Apple didn't make any headway into the AI ecosystem, I feel like they are eating other folks legacy businesses for lunch. They are a huge gaming marketplace while Xbox is faltering. They are a juggernaut in hardware and now mov

Yeah, I've seen this too. I like to call them "single-serving apps". I made a flashcard app to study for interviews and one-shot it with Claude Code. I've had it add some features here and there but haven't really l

I’d suggest renaming. Ink is already a well known framework for building console apps wit react.

I disagree with the premise. It made all engineering easier. Bad and good. I believe vibe coding has always existed. I've known people at every company who add copious null checks rather than understanding things and fixing them proper

I mentioned this at work but context still rots at the same rate. 90k tokens consumed has just as bad results in 100k context window or 1M. Personally, I’m on a 6M+ line codebase and had no problems with the old window. I’m not sending it b

It’s interesting because for a long time people wanted to work for Elon because he held the moral high ground. “I’ll bring electric cars and space colonization online or die trying.” It’s sad to see the shift.

I have a principle similar to this. The First Idiot Principle: never be afraid to be the first idiot in the room. Usually others have the same reservations you do about sharing. If you want to hear more I wrote a small post. https:/&#

I think there is a split but I don’t think it’s between people who love hand-crafting things vs not. I love hand crafting things, yet I’m waking up like a kid on Christmas every day, running to my computer to use Claude code. For my critica

I had to do an atan() on an slow embedded device once for an autonomous robot competition. Fastest impl I came up with was rounding and big switch statement.

I find it interesting that AI edited comments aren’t allowed. Sometimes I just want it to help me make something polite. I definitely agree with AI generated comments. Whatever the rules are, I’m happy to play by them.

At Rec Room, we made tons of AI games. The problem is that they weren't economical. You need to make a ton of money if your players are burning tokens: https://www.tyleo.com/professional-work-history/rec-room-ugc..

I largely agree with you, but that's honestly the part I like. Just like your kids, there are folks here getting value out of something that wasn't accessible to them before. My most cherished artwork isn't the tasteful stuff

This is some of my favorite writing so I want to share. It’s filled with timeless wisdom. The heaviness of the moment of the US founding seems in similar weight to the AI revolution we’re experiencing right now. You can also find a good rea
