I’m pretty sure it’s AI written. It has the common AI style of, “That’s not just X! It’s Y!” Personally I find this annoying. I use AI for my writing but painstakingly try to maintain my own voice rather than lazily edit my prose into Linke

One of the troubles with games is that you don't know if your product will be successful up front. You can go down the route of building everything (engine, multiplayer server, game DB), but if you frontload the tech and your game isn&

I hadn't heard of SpacetimeDB but this tech looks genuinely interesting. I'm tech lead of UGC at Rec Room and had to do similar work to support live synchronization of UGC content. We essentially built a database in our game engin

You don’t have to take sides. I haven’t landed on a particular POV here. You’re free to take a breath and think about things.

I’m not so sure. This is no where near a priority issue for most Americans, “I can’t afford eggs and the immigrant I buy pizza from got shipped to a warehouse but thank god the regime changed in Iran.”

These platforms actually seem like a great way to run sports betting to me. Much better than what the actual companies are doing trying to write their own books and risking arbitrage.

If you accept the default output you get slop. But you can use these tools as a starting point to get something good much faster than doing everything by hand. I wrote a guide for this with voxel art and you can see some examples up top: h

This reminds me of what I did for Rad Type: https://www.tyleo.com/projects/rad-type I didn’t fully optimize for touch but it’s based on the same idea that you want more buttons equidistant from where your thumb centers

I’m not sure what you're doing or if you’ve tried the tools recently but this isn’t even close to my experience.

Same here. I did bounce off these tools a year ago. They just didn't work for me 60% of the time. I learned a bit in that initial experience though and walked away with some tasks ChatGPT could replace in my workflow. Mainly replacing

I’ve felt the same. I’ve had two things on the pre-LLM front page after about a month of work each. Those exist in the framework of my personal site which I’d been building out for a year. I suspect a month of AI accelerated work is still e

That’s how I feel too. When I was an architect at a ~300-person company, a big chunk of my job shifted to reviews, technical design docs, and guidance. I’m getting great results by feeding context like that into Claude Code, then reviewing

I’m in some discord servers that have both #art and #ai-art channels. This seems to work well. It’s not perfect but it’s cheap and might be good as a start.

I don’t think this is a phenomenon. At the best places I’ve worked, I’ve seen success correlated with actual user value. You do find climbers at certain places but I tend to think it’s a large reason they fail. Also, I don’t think your Only

Most of my targets aren’t machine code. Typescript emits JavaScript and C# emits IL. I didn’t check the exact output, but these are hardware independent and should be more or less the same.

These processors are good all around. The P cores kick butt too. I ran a performance test back in October comparing M4 laptops against high-end Windows desktops, and the results showed the M-series chips coming out on top. https:/

People like this can be a huge help, but they can also cause real damage. I've seen it go both ways: someone can deliver a ton of value one year and create serious problems the next. This article's description gives me pause becau

That’s my impression as well. Taste matters more than tools. If something is sloppy, it doesn’t really matter whether AI was involved or not. AI just makes it easier for people without taste to produce sloppy work at scale. When a game is g

Is including AI actually bad for most games? It feels like there’s a lot of online protest around “AI slop,” but I’m not convinced that gamers as a whole care nearly as much. I work in the industry, and there’s a palpable negative sentiment

It isn’t just AA and indie. A lot of the play hours are soaked up by mega titles like Roblox, Minecraft, and Fortnite before AA and indie even kick in. I’d say the low tier is just as impacted by this dynamic. Everyone else is fighting over
