I’ve previously heard that folks with dyslexia have an affinity for Comic Sans. Perhaps the same is true for these Comic monospaced fonts. A quick google search turned up this: https://www.boia.org/blog/does-comic-sans-

We use a joint account and joint credit cards for most things. We each take a $250 monthly allowance to personal accounts. Most of our personal purchases still come from the joint account but every once in awhile you want something big with

Yeah, this argument is interesting. There are good moral rebuttals. Someone on HN said recently, “your actions remain immoral even if others are ready to be just as immoral as you are.” I haven’t heard a good practical rebuttal though :

I disagree with this. For example, lets say an engineer implements a 1000 line function and another engineer says, 'A similar function already exists. Just add a parameter and change these 2 lines'. I don't think we need to o

I consider Hacker News social media but I think it’s pretty benign compared to others. Below my threshold of caring or feeling that I need to correct my behavior.

I agree with the substance but I don’t agree with airing dirty laundry on Twitter. I’m not an exec but I’ve said things at work I regret. I’m sure many of us have. You just say a stupid thing here or there sometimes. It seems destructive to

Lots of game studios use Unity builds like this. It saves a massive amount of time. Last I heard it also improves Incredibuild performance which is another popular tool for decreasing build timed.

IMO the ultimate feature of Alexa is setting timers… but I feel like you could do this with a $10 device without internet connection… hell, it might have better voice recognition if it only needed to understand a few commands for setting th

I’ve enjoyed having ChatGPT create stories for my niece. Basically I say, “what do you want to hear a story about?” And type her response into ChatGPT. We can even get more detail if she is particularly interested in one character or event,

I like the essay. I find your context here helpful and I actually think it makes your point stronger. It contextualizes it with a real-world example. You might want to consider adding this context in a footnote at the end of your essay.

Thanks for the answer. In my own experience I went from eating out every day at work to packing a lunch and eating in the cafeteria. It didn’t mean less socialization at lunch but I did start eating with different people and I realize that

I agree that eating every other day would be socially isolating but OP stated he ate every other day 7 years after his original bout of weight loss which he said he did, “the old fashioned way.”

> Losing weight was extremely challenging and socially isolating. How was it socially isolating? I’m curious because I exercise and diet and this is not my experience. I understand it being challenging though.

Lying about future products, “it will do X” is much different than lying about what you have in the market right now “it is doing X”. Elon engages in the first, Holmes in the second. I think, if Holmes merely went bankrupt because she could

I’ve had plenty of bosses/organization leaders in my life change without the amount of chaos that Twitter seems to be experiencing. What’s happening at Twitter doesn’t seem normal or desired.
