In my experience, it’s usually tone more than content. In your comment I’m replying to, the first paragraph contributes meaningfully to the discussion; the second sounds a bit like lashing out, which might be why people react negatively.

Yeah, admittedly I started working out in High School more because I thought it would impress girls. That didn’t work. It became a life long habit though and can be mediative. I like that it forces time away from a screen just getting my th

Reminds me of one of my favorite memes. It has two images: 1. What men think about working out: a picture of a bunch of girls saying things like, “can I touch your biceps.” 2. What working out is actually like: a picture of a bunch of men s

Yeah, I agree with this. Maybe it’s not obvious from my point. I suspect companies will have RIFs and hair cuts but not need bail outs.

Well they sell graphics cards now so yes. Why would they suddenly not be okay with selling graphics cards if the AI bubble popped?

Agreed, I also feel like Microsoft is diversified enough that this would not bring them down. Probably the hoards of startups would be most impacted. It isn’t clear the government would bale them out.

You know, I prefer games too but I’ve suspected that the AI boom improved hardware for games and AI rather than just AI in isolation.

I disagree. CSS can do a lot. I find myself yearning for it when working in non-web UI frameworks.

I use px. It seems less likely to break and most zoom setting I’m a custom to respect it (e.g., pinch, browser zoom). On some em-based websites I’ve seen them break at high zoom levels defeating the purpose.

It’s surprising to me MacBooks have such low market share. I got my first Mac after using Windows all my life and I’m stunned. The laptop: 1. Lasts all day on battery 2. Doesn’t get hot 3. Compiles code twice as fast as my new Windows deskt

Agreed with everything said here about the beauty. I found the camera controls pretty clumsy though. I played in portrait, landscape probably would work better.

I own a couple of these devices and they are the real deal but I understand how that can be off putting. Full disclosure: they use some Chinese shipping service I’ve never heard of that may raise scam alerts further. The adapters are smalle

My motivation for buying one was that I used to have a huge laptop charger and my SlimQ is much easier to carry around. My motivation for sharing is that I like the product and thought others might too. People responding in a thread about p

Yeah, I actually think Safari has the right behavior here. I use zoom features all the time on all my devices. I actually prefer pinch zoom than developers implementing accessibility features which often don’t test all hardware and get glit

All the products compete. A foldable phone already competes with iPads. iPad competes with Mac. iPad Mini competes with iPads.

I’m pretty much with you on all these points. I’ll add that I don’t care that drivers break on Windows because at least it works with all my 3rd party hardware. All this being said, I still prefer my Mac. The battery life, screen, speed — b

As a long time Windows user and part Linux user, I recently switched to Mac. I absolutely love the machine. It’s by far the best hardware I’ve used and it makes up for everything and then some. But I’ve got to say the OS really sucks.

I've been using Tahoe since yesterday and so far I find the glass changes fine. I don't have any sort of accessibility requirements and I can understand how loss-of-contrast may impact folks but to me it feels fresh.

It was a hill to die on in the sense that her campaign was getting killed and she said nothing. The ad was actively damaging her campaign so doing nothing was dying. Why do you think she didn’t say anything?

Idk where you’re getting that quote from. No one would say that. There are many things Harris could have done to improve the situation like publicly stating a balanced position. Doing nothing was dying on the hill. What do you think she sho

I’m not sure what your point is. This still seems like a purity test. Whether democrats wanted it to be a purity test or not republicans were able to successfully paint it as one.

Yes, politicians can agree or disagree with policy. That is their job. E.g., “here is a good policy we don’t have which we should enact,” and “here is a bad policy we should get rid of.” I’m not saying I agree or disagree with this policy b

I would guess normal corruption. Companies making a profit here simply fund the politicians in power and are getting their kickbacks.
