What is Universal Display? The built-in MacOS feature that does this called continuity… but I know it was renamed once (used to be sidecar). Maybe you’re referring to an old name? Or is it a product? Edit: I looked it up and it appears that

What I’d like to get across is to check in with your doctor if you take on a strange diet habit. I disagree with the point that this is apples and oranges though. Both consumed mass quantities of eggs. If the only difference is ketosis, I’d

I have a friend who consumed massive quantities of free eggs at Meta as a form of petty revenge. Egg prices were high at the time and they disliked the company but work is work. My friend ended up with major cholesterol issues. The conditio

Truthfully I think this is actually getting phased out. That’s one win at least.

I disagree because learning is cumulative. If you can’t read or do math at a 3rd grade level and we shove you through 4th, 5th, etc, you enter an unrecoverable state.

There’s a few other things they do. The link I shared actually provides 3 examples. I just thought it aligned particularly well with the OP on that specific point.

This take is partisan and not aligned with fact. You may be surprised to hear that Mississippi, Louisiana, Alabama, and Tennessee are all seeing improvements. Here’s more information on that: https://www.theargumentmag.com/p

This was on HN a few weeks ago and provides a similar take: https://www.theargumentmag.com/p/illiteracy-is-a-policy-choi... It has examples of states which are seeing some improvements. Those states seem to be addressi

I have an M4 MBP and I also think Apple is set up quite nicely to take real advantage of local models. They already work on the most expensive Apple hardware. I expect that price to come down in the next few years. It’s really just the UX t

I slightly disagree. I think two things are better with the result type: 1. Exception overhead. Exceptions capture diagnostics and unwind stacks in ways that add cost to the user-error case. 2. Type system information. With the result type,

People also want ultra processed food. I wouldn’t advocate a ban for any of these things—I eat them too—but it seems reasonable to want less focus on them and hope that companies could innovate or market other options. The marketing and ava

I've found that it's hard to instill in teams, "exceptions shouldn't be for user errors." Perhaps it's an artifact of C#, exceptions are built into the language and sufficient user error handling mechanisms are

It’s more about it being fake when they are delicious by themselves. Vegetables don’t need improvement, they are already respectable. I think the idea just bothers me, “vegetables aren’t good enough, what you really want is fake meat.”

Vegetables are delicious. I wish vegan options would lean into this instead of trying to be fake meat. IMO grilled mushrooms are tastier than grilled goop pressed into burger form.
