I guess this means that the sample web app no longer breaks if it's kept running for 15 minutes? Or is that problem still around?

For PHP, I've been very impressed by Phabricator's code (and the related phutils library). It's worth looking at the git commits as well to see just how clean and structured commits can be. I'm much more impressed by it

An aspect not mentioned yet is that for a long time php and major projects had well known security problems. It also has a poor tooling culture, in part because writing CLI scripts feels awkward.

I've actually considered learning Erlang, but never gone through with it as other languages seem more useful and/or enjoyable. For me to seriously consider learning a new language/framework it should have: Good documentation.

Most of the time its not a cultural fit. Sometimes its because the company hired a senior dev and instead got a junior dev who has trouble following logic. They're not expecting you to be 100% up to speed but they do expect you to make

There are a number of reasons why PHP is so disliked by outside communities including but not limited to MAGZine's points. 1) As mentioned there are a number of language inconsistencies, much more so than comparable languages. This inc

To clarify, a POC proves that you can actually do it. So if you want to build a service to create 3d html5 drawings of famous buildings, you might do a POC to prove that you can actually draw complex images in 3d. The mvp might be the abili
