Yeah it's hard to predict where the market will go. It's possible that those forces are enough, but llm adoption at major institutions is slow. Everyone is interested in using chatgpt, but there isn't a clear beat use cases y

I did a migration like this before intercloud between es clusters. Just wanted to additionally confirm that this is broadly the way that I've seen it done before. If you can afford downtime, or data loss that does make it easier. But t

I mean this appears to be a similar model as a utility. Right? Basically a legal monopoly with a set of restrictions. I don't see how it's really a bad thing.

One of the topics I didn't see discussed in this article is how we're expected to validate the results of the output of the AI. Really liked the announcement and I think this is a great step forward. Looking forward to use it. How

Scale. A restaurant can only serve 100's or maybe 1000's of guests in a single day. Spotify has Millions of subscriptions. 2% at scale is significant. Here is their recent Q3 earnings report: https://newsroom.spotify.co

I would say the secret management part typically isn't the most insane or annoying part. For me it's external system state management. Like making sure the integration test db is cleaned up correctly.

Yeah I'm a huge fan of trunk based development. It's my preferred operating method for git. I know a lot of people like git flow for its ability to create seperate envs that can be controlled and tested, however it always felt ext

Funny enough. I only use merge because rebase makes no sense to me. As an aside, I think git complexity can arise for two reasons. One is legitimate, if you have hundreds or thousands of devs committing to the same repo regularly you need t

It's possible that they jump straight to the hybrid solution that many companies now make. Like migrating to the cloud could be just to have backups of papers in s3 with failures to download them initially then pass through to the s3 l

Could you comment on what you're using deno in prod for? I'm curious to see and learn more about deno for production cases. I'm a big ts and nodejs user, and deno always seemed interesting to me. However I am afraid of being

I don't really get this idea that companies can be so vastly competitent and incompetent at the same time. People make new products, if they make something that people want, it gets noticed. Eventually those with a lot of money come al

Math can be structured and proven verifiably true or false. Things are labeled as conjectures when it's unknown if it's true in all cases. In less formal fields (all other scientific fields) there are more unknowns since experimen

I do wonder if tor would allow servers to have the difficulty to be "tuneable" so that service A with a small server but a solid fan base could have a high difficulty scaling that everyone knows about, and service B has a lower di

If you want to experiment with something new and fun pick bun or deno. If you're looking to currently build a larger scale project with a few people that supports a lot of users, it's safer to go with nodejs/typescript.
