What if I emulate current games that my friend owns, but I make sure to never play the same game at the same time as he does?

Switch emulation works surprisingly well, but it has its quirks and some titles are barely playable. I love emulation primarily because it's necessary for long-term archival of game libraries, but emulating modern systems is not a supe

I don't think "addictiveness" is really the problem. I've been "addicted" to Wikipedia for 20+ years too.

Get rid of behavioral advertising. You'll find that most or all of the negative things people have in mind when they say "ban social media" go away.

Indeed. Price discrimination is a market failure. It's only possible when a seller has market power.

I would guess that most dynamic pricing won't work in a competitive market. By "competitive" I mean that there are a large number of buyers and sellers and something close to perfect information (namely that buyers know the p

I've got the Arc soundbar and subwoofer one year ago to save space by replacing my more typical 3.1 setup with receiver, sub, and bookshelf speakers. I'm happy with the form factor, audio quality, and overall TV experience, and I

The thing is, you wouldn't use the slur except to invoke the mean-spiritedness that the people who find the slur offensive associate with the word. If you're using it because you think like-minded people will find it funny that yo

Phrases like “toll” and “congestion pricing” clearly imply that there will be a cost to driving, so I don’t think it’s reasonable to say anyone in the conversation is ignoring cost. But again, dismissing the improvements because costs go up

I wouldn't call that a sleight of hand. Surely better lossy compression can be trivially used to implement better lossless compression, and the latter is just much easier to quantify for a benchmark.
