SQL is a bad language for writing complex queries. Sometimes need to read inside out or bottom up, etc to make sense of it. Wish duckdb had a more procedural api.

It’s people like you that are too honest that these companies make most their money from. They are arbitraging morality. Providing a financial incentive to be shitty and dishonest.

Crowd funding projects by selling equity? Have we re-invented pre-regulated-to-death stock markets?

I strongly prefer speedcrunch due to it opening much faster and being simpler. Qalc has poor documentation so I don't find learning its extra features to be worthwhile. Qalc is also awkward to type.

Flat salary is an incentive to do the easiest option or least work. You can’t win with the incentive game. One nasty way that can manifest is to under test because if you don’t find anything you don’t have to do anything.

I'm using a razor basilisk and it just feels so awful to use on linux. The best part of the mouse is the great scroll wheel(very similar to the mx master but better) and this part does not work at all on linux. Scrolling in general is

I think first 5 years should be free, then the author declares the value of their work to be X and pays a yearly tax of 0.05 * X to keep for copyright for as long as they want. To make sure they dont put a low X, have anyone be able to buy

Language ecosystem is more important than the language itself. Typing 5 lines of code because of fancy syntax is nice, but writing 20 doesn't take a significant amount of time. What does take tons of time however is figuring build syst

Hmm interesting, suggests that solar panel prices should drop to like 8c/W by 2030. At that point they are pretty much free because the ROI will be so high.

None of the "better" other products have even halfway passing software support. The developers release 1 old kernel with tons of bugs that boots on the board, and that's it.

I like nim but I found the dev experience to be quite awful. Couldn't just install a plugin for VS code and hit run...had to configure stuff and not sure how to get the debugger to work still. I have strongly suspected for a while now

I cant think of a single situation in which I would want take_action() and Take_Action() to do different things inside of a program. What reasonable purpose would naming things that way serve? I see it as a mandated style checker built into

No that is not where the word comes from. Slav is an English-ization of “slowanie” (what slavs call their group) which means “people of the word “ or people who can talk or something along those lines.
