Anti monopoly laws apply to corporations, why not apply them to unions as well? Why does 1 union represent port workers on the entire eastern seaboard? Its a little absurd(USA has some of the least efficient ports in the world too...coincid

I find it utterly astounding that not a single government has started an email service yet for its citizens, with all the legal protections of actual mail and such. They wouldn't even need to run it, just create a legal category like &

I've never understood why Atlas Shrugged gets so much more hate than any other book that ever gets mentioned. Its like a rule of the internet that anytime it is mentioned, people must show up and dunk on it.

As opposed to menus like this type of desktop, I like to use launchers for everything. I like key-pirranah the most. Configuration is on the harder side as launchers go, but it has been rock-solid since then for over a year. I just type a f

Yeah this. I don't mind SaaS in theory. In practice it is just a more expensive and invasive way of a way to get your software. Too many apps think 10$/mo is reasonable. Thats 120$ a year. Absurd.

I wouldn't. This method of ranked choice voting is really bad. FPTP is awful. IRV is awful-1%. Why not choose something good like range or approval voting that doesn't have all these bizarre gotchas and strategies about who is 3rd

This is your daily reminder that there is no theoretical reason to do these monthly small hikes. Except to keep pretending everything is still fine I guess. Russia hiked by 9% in a day and it helped stabilize things quickly. We need to hike

Visa/Mastercard are looking very overvalued to me. When fednow comes out, I see very little reason for people to use those legacy options anymore. Its like the market is completely oblivious to the impending doom coming for these rent

If EMPLOYER pays you 10k and you want to buy a plan for 5k, you first have to pay taxes on the 10k, lets say 20%, so you have 8k - 5k = 3k left over. OR The employer can just buy the 5k plan for you tax free, and pay you 5k instead. This me

Shopping on amazon is really an awful experience nowdays. I really do not want to search through 40 pages of water kettles of really dubious brands. It is so anxiety inducing and unpleasant.
