There's also room for your small, niche software idea. You don't need to be the next Facebook/Twitter to succeed.

I'm a father of a three year old so you know what, sometimes sitting on Reddit is good for my brain. Need to rest it!

That's terrifying. Is it known/clear to the user that the camera is on?

As someone who's been hacking away at his "boring", one-man company for a few months (after the 3 year old is in bed, so only about two hours a night, and only some nights) and has begun hitting those initial slumps, this is

Yet it seems common in American cities that the best schools for children are in the suburbs, where walkability is graded lower. Public schools seem to be regaining credibility as the upper-middle class flood back into cities, but have they

Read a piece recently on how Uber is primarily used by people who are a) fairly well off and b) have access to transit or other options to get to work This argument you make reminds me of that. Most people taking advantage of Amazon One-Day

Totally. It's like getting a job in dated Java code bases. Tons of cruft to support. Boring work though

I've been developing a growth framework at my org for the primary reason to ensure that we can have consistent conversations across teams and ultimately, provide a reference point for development teams as they work with their managers

That's revenue, so not .. quite what he's taking home. Less cost of servers, then benefits which he's not getting from an employer, 401k matching, etc. It adds up but yes .. the freedom is nice :)

Good on you. I have a family as well and prior to it spent much of my free time coding side projects. Now, it's been tough to find the energy to do that in my limited time. Of course, one can prioritize the projects, but find joy in ot

Look at any old Italian kitchen and you'll be amazed how much can be accomplished with next to no space. One of my favourite food bloggers has a fairly small kitchen. Not tiny by any standards, but smaller than typical suburban Instagr

Ah yes, it's only when I use the !g bang operator. But if I recall, a selling point of DDG and searching Google via the operator was that lack of track-ability. Of course, again, I am using Chrome so not shocked, just notable.

What's notable is that when I search though DDG, Google still is able to see and track my search item there. I did not even think about that, but a bit eye opening. (I am using Chrome, afterall)

Well duh, this makes sense. But 45 minutes out of the city you lose many of the perks -- easier and healthier (more walking, less car) access to shopping, food, services, etc. Do you have kids? I still don't understand the suburban esc
