The decade doesn't matter. NASA is making poor decisions today with SLS, just as it did with the shuttle in the 80s. The reality is it was possible to build cheap reliable reusable space vehicles with 70s technology.

I think you answered your own question. You can’t go further in space to explore if the costs are high. NASA has the funding and power to shape requirements that make those Uber rides for their probes much much cheaper.

By funding science they’ve actually held science back because the costs of access to space have not decreased. You can do a lot more science when the costs are low.

Simple, by putting out contacts for reusable, low maintenance vehicles. NASA is in the position to define the requirements for bidders.

If you were right then NASA and every other country would be doing it now. But you’re not right. There’s nothing about the computers or engines that couldn’t of been done decades ago.

NASA hasn’t been actively trying to drive down the cost of space. If the had it would of unlocked space for all of us decades ago. It took SpaceX investing their own profits into building a reusable booster. And now they’re doing the same f

10 minutes is nothing. A wire transfer can take hours. A bank transfer can take days. A wire transfer might cost you 20 bucks as well. Bitcoin is amazing at transferring large sums of money quickly, internationally, for a low overhead cost.

But is the research using these tools coordinated? Or are these tool created and then independent researchers schedule time to use them?

It feels from the outside, academic research is performed by an individual or small group that culminates into a paper at the end. When attacking large problems in physics or biology this seems short sighted. A potentially better way would

No one thinks Jobs or Musk comes up with all the ideas, or 'takes credit' for others work. They are the figureheads of their respective companies. And just as the engineer builds the product, their job is to sell it. You'd be

There will always be groups of people who wish to be independent. Regardless if they're travelling to the new world or into a space. Some kind of authority trying to keep everyone together would not end up in the utopia scenario that

You can write very simple ORM code that results in very complex and verbose SQL. Especially when you want to return structured data that includes internal aggregations. If an ORM is not used, you often see a lot of data manipulation after t

Right now there are 14 Ohio class submarines in the water, each with up to 24 ICBMs, each missile with up to 14 warheads of 100 kilotons. As of 2014 there were 488 cities in the world with over a million people. If somehow even half of that
