Thanks for the info. I guess my follow up question is why doesn't Dgraph end up caching all the data on every node when it has the memory to do so? Is this a planned feature that you just haven't implemented yet?

The thing is this benchmark uses a small data set and no concurrent writes. This means that the data set can be trivially cached in memory on every single instance. In this benchmark there is theoretically no need for different database nod

Nix has a generator that generates a Nix file based on an npm package including SHAs and locked down versions. Unfortunately because typical JS packages use a bajillion dependencies each recursively these Nix files can be tens of thousands

My preferred answer (although others may differ) is that it should be the same for everyone. If you can't afford to live where you are now, move somewhere cheaper or get a job. If you're jobless and can't afford an expensive

You can avoid that easily using more conservative MAGIC (actually a reference to an HCI paper) that only moves the mouse pointer when you want it to.

Eyes don't point a things we look at as accurate as a mouse does (they only aim within the fovea, about 1 degree angular, corresponding to about 1cm on the screen) and eye trackers are often far worse. This summer I built a system that

It seems to me like that you could have the causality of that correlation reversed. People that don't have "talent" may consistently underperform those who do despite working hard and trying their best, causing them to realiz

Rust does exactly this in many cases. All the integer types have methods like 'count_ones' for popcount and 'trailing_zeros' for ctz, things that are intrinsics in other languages. See http://doc.rust-lang.org

One thing I would love to see if I was an investor looking at this idea is a whole bunch of back of calculations. Do you have calculations using estimates of potential drag, thrust and lift that show that this idea might be viable? What if

This looks amazingly comprehensive and high quality for a non mainstream language. I wonder how difficult it would be to get something like Rust, Nim, D or Crystal to be able to call the FreePascal ABI and link with this.

The name on this post is misleading, it should probably at least have a [1994] at the end. But AFAIK it also contradicts the HN rule to have the title be the page title, although just an RFC number would be a confusing title.

The trick is that Qt5 != Qt Quick. There aren't many bindings to Qt5 since the binding surface is enormous and very C++-like. The QML bindings for other languages don't have to cover much surface area though. They look minimal but
