A poor initial perception of performance, e.g. blunder during interview, may also set the employee up for long term failure due to the Pygmalion effect. For example, they may less likely be chosen for future easy/high recognition proje

Starcraft and Heros of the Storm have both ceased development and I doubt Microsoft is interested in reviving them But I can see them reusing those IP as universes for future games just because it's easier to reuse a well known IP than

It was pretty hard for me to get used to Lua's 1-based index and everything treated as a table I think it's easier to mentally map concepts between C and Python than Lua

I think the decline of the "third place" in modern society is a big contributor to loneliness https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Third_place Personally, I've found a pseudo third space on Discord - my friends

Microsoft keeps reinventing the recommended GUI framework every few years and leaves their documentation in a convoluted mess (win32, WinForms, WPF, WinUI, etc.) I also suspect it's because the demographic of Mac users are generally ri

They probably want the performance of C++ without the learning curve of Rust It's not like C++20 is completely different. There's just a lot more utilities in the stdlib so hopefully less raw pointer magic.

I'm surprised decorators are going to be a new JS feature. They look simple and helpful but every non-trivial project in other langauges that I've seen using decorators are a quagmire to understand and debug.

I haven't used Java since school so I'm curious about modern Java. Do you need to worry about circular references preventing garbage collection or are there easy tools to detect such cases?

tsc is the reference implementation written in JS so of course it's slow. It has to boot up the nodejs runtime first Use swc or esbuild if you want fast TS compile times and use your IDE or eslint for type checking during development

The rental market in Toronto is just as insane. People nowadays need to offer 6-12 months worth of rent upfront to make a competitive offer. Good luck climbing out of homelessness if you don't have a $10-20k deposit.
