The query-string is (obviously) a string and there is no way to treat it as anything else in a static type system. But in a static type system you will have to cast or convert query-string data to whatever you want them processed as before

Things like this makes me once again appreciate languages with a static type-system. Not in any way claiming they guarantee bug- or exploit-free code, but these kind of bugs/vulnerabilities simply does not exist.

Come on guys, use some critical thinking skills here. Not commenting on the rest of your post, using my critical thinking, it would seem odd at best to expect people without a home, without an address, to be able to read or respond to mai

If he was homeless, how was he supposed to get a letter telling him to show up in court at all? Yeah he got arrested for being homeless.

“They arrested a homeless man in a shelter for being homeless.” Any society which in any way thinks this makes sense needs to take a good, deep look at itself and then start thinking over.

If you want analysis. why not use one of the numerous proven tools out there already, designed for this specificly? Not trolling. This is a serious question.

Or you could simply not use stupid URL shorteners which have absolutely no purpose anywhere on the internet. That one website (twitter) has a post limit of 140 characters doesn't mean we should spread the stupidity to everywhere else.

It pretty much says it all when this company's* only hope of turning a profit was getting someone to buy them. If your business plan is getting bought and leaving someone else with the bill, you have no business plan. (*) Not entirely sure

Mix this kinda stuff with corporate espionage and corrupt insiders, and you are not too far away from the future described by (among others) William Gibson where corporations, not nations, rule and fight wars.

Not diasgreeing with your main point (that MS will have to go with the same standards as everyone else), I think you wastly overestimate the importance and impact Chrome OS will have. Chrome OS will be the most niché OS ever, just slightly

I made a web-based proxy for that when I finally got too fed up with that. Has a own open-search provider too. http://googlealready.com/ (plug) These days I use bing though, but that service is still online.

Same for all searches as well. Documents, actions, programs, email, websites, etc etc. If you have indexing enabled (client-side for local data and server-side for network shares) it can scour trough gigabytes of data in no speed. It's obvi

What's up with the headline? Did anyone seriously expect Microsoft not to come with an updated version of Office just because Google has some (currently) vague plans about a Netbook OS? I think some people overestimate people's general will

My impression was that Chrome OS was supposed to be a netbook OS, focused mainly on getting online and a browser up and running, and little more. That is as far as you can get from a universal OS. Anyway, since we really have next to no det
