It's not like the nationalized companies do that great. The USPS is in perpetual crisis and eventually the Federal Government is going to be on the hook for 10s of billions in pensions.

Tampa Bay is geographically quite vulnerable to storm surge. They have been fortunate to not have been hit directly by a hurricane in a long time. This looks like the nightmare scenario.

The moat is/will be the virtuous cycle of feeding user usage back into the model like it is for Google. That historically has been a powerful tool and it's something thats nearly impossible to get as a newcomer to the marketplace

Eh this is bending the word "produced". In 1960 all the parts were made in the US likely from raw materials mined & refined in the US. That's very different from today.

Think this is like a lot of things that work in theory but don't work in practice. You think you'll get the best of both worlds but really you get the worst of both.

I'm wondering if/when this will extend to dev machines at work. Macs seem very firmly entrenched but, IMHO, the experience isn't that great.

I'm in this crowd. The TV apps work well enough and it's one less remote. The only thing I use the attached Chromecast for is to (rarely) mirror my phone screen.

Do you have a cite for the air filters? I'm under the impression that stand alone air filters don't move enough air to be effective.

It's all bullshit. Buffet bought BNSF but the rest of the major railroads are publicly traded companies. And Berkshire Hathaway isn't private equity either.

I don't think this ensures that you've correctly wired downstream outlets. The move to GFCI/afci breakers should really help diy electrical work. Much harder to make something dangerous with that protection.
