Curious how this works. I generally don’t drink coffee late..do people come in for coffee and stay a while? I never really thought through the business model.

Yeah that would work too. I ended up creating a table in org mode for a limited subset of my gear — camping gear specifically. Using the phone is just too much friction. I print out a checklist and check items off. This is not the flying ca

I've thought of doing something similar. Add a barcode to everything, designate a "home" and then create a catalogue. I even found an app that supports this. No more "where does this go" or "where do I find X&q

I send my task list along with notes to chatgpt to summarize, and log the output. It's easy to go back to the date where I did something and find detailed notes, based on this generated index. The problem is dealing with days that are

How do you remember a whole day worth of activities? Do you note them down on paper first?

How much time do you spend tracking this?

Hey, same boat. On interviews: I've had the same problems. "tell me about the problem you've solved" was a huge a challenge for me. 'cause I couldn't remember frankly. Find a mentor (a buddy, coworker, someone)

I have relatively poor hand eye coordination/balance and I've been trying to learn how to pilot a drone (without stabilization). Anecdotally, kids can pick it up within hours of flying a sim, and adults take in general 20-30 hours

I can sense your frustration. It also sounds like you’re a subject matter expert. Why not contribute to these projects and make them better?

That’s amazing. I’d like to turn the sound down on the world many a times. Which model do you have?

Right, I may have read your comment as generally dismissive of personal knowledge management systems in general, but I see you have a much more nuanced approach. Thanks for clarifying!

I dont think it's as simple as that, after all there are book written about task management. When "something" comes up, it's not always clear to me whether it's urgent or not, important or not. Getting it out into a

Not that I am aware of. The mobile story with emacs is pretty painful. I use dropbox + beorg (iOS). If I have to deal with attachments off spelunking through the dropbox folders I go. Realistically, I dont see the mobile experience improvin

This is completely incorrect. You can download a random binary and execute it. You will get a warning dialog saying it’s not signed by a known developer. You are free to ignore that though.

This hits home for me, on all counts. What I've been doing is keeping track of all my projects and the actions that I've taken. Based on this, I can then weave a narrative. I feel like I missed a lot of opportunities because I cou

I’ve got an appointment with Apple to replace the battery in my iPhone 13 mini. I would love the new features (especially the camera and sat comm) but I’m not willing to get a bigger form factor device.
