I'm working on the backend and the front end that consumes the data. From the front end perspective it's really great. I like how flexible the querying is and how concise it makes the comm code. From the backend perspective, I&#x2

“Generation kill”, the book and the miniseries, is about marines invading Iraq in 2003 in unarmored humvees. Didn’t make sense then either.

Fair enough. I'm pretty coupled to Spotify's ecosystem so for anyone on Spotify here's the first 200 songs: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/0IcZx8V66DzI2apfnutcvq I used a service (soundiiz) that only

Yeah, I wish I got it too. I was pretty great to drown out distractions without being distracting itself. I hesitate to confirm or deny whether it actually made me more focused or relaxed.

Brain.fm was a good deal when lifetime memebrships were available. It’s not worth the current monthly fee.

Is it possible to convert this to Spotify or YouTube music?

So you've got dunning Kruger on one pole, and impostor syndrome opposite. How do you do better? Can you?

Coops is one of the structures that the author talks about in "Developer Hegemony". The bulk of the book is about the inverted pyramid that modern software development houses are (with production being at the bottom, and manager o

That's another device (and cost) to absorb. And not a small device at that.. I like the idea of the centre for 2-4 hours of meetings, then I just put it away.

Sadly my emacs freezes about once every 2 weeks. Hand rolled config that restores everything within 30 seconds. But still.

Not sure why you’re being downvoted. I have to go into the office occasionally to get my work done. The energy required for commuting is non trivial. I’m not sure why nobody is talking about that. I can parlay that energy into the product I

That’s a great question because it made me pause and think about what proper ceo compensation could be, rather than just complaining about it. An interesting thought experiment is to see what public servants in position of authority and res

I was blown away by the idea behind C4 when I first saw the presentation. I think what's missing is the tooling. I use C4 PlantUML do document my architecture designs.. what I'd really love though is a google maps style interface

I never thought of this, but now I have a lot of questions. Do you have an application in mind where this would be useful? Most of my experience if with traditional webapps/SaaS so I'd love to see an example.

The article is pretty ambiguous. They say the energy density is doubled vs Tesla, and then then they compare the charge rates. They never indicate the capacity of the 15 minute charge. What exactly are they comparing.
558.
by tra3 4y ago
Yeah but they are also claiming double the energy density. Very impressive if true.

You’ve got incredible self control. I love turning knobs and dials and that’s basically what emacs is.

This is really cool. So I just exposed an instance of next cloud, but it requires an email verification before being accessible. Super cool. Is the cloudflared smart enough to route connections locally? Hm, not sure how that would work. I&#

That’s really neat. I want to expose some self hosted services externally. Is this a good option? I see that there’s a free plan. How’s it working for you?

Me too. I just, yet again, rediscovered the ip command. This and moving to systemd from init are two things that always trip me up.

Sidekiq in the Ruby on Rails community is a success. Sidekiq itself is free, but support and some enterprise features require a yearly subscription. The author just posted a 10 year summary [0]: > 1 employee (me!) > 1850 customers &gt

Gotcha. I was asking because we just got a new set of blinds that are decidedly not motorized. I think I've seen some third party motors you can add though.

Do IKEA blinds come with motors built in? How did you hook 'em up?

Huh, that's a pretty great idea/workflow! I'm still figuring out HA's scripting. I find the JSON based DSL to be pretty awkward so far, so I haven't experimented with it much.

Never got around to getting a physical button, but I got a few dozen NFC tags from amazon a while back. They are quite unobtrusive so it's no bother to just quickly tap the phone.
