I'll join those who benefit from personal workflow automation. I use BASH Alfred Applescript NodeJS bbedit in a zillion combinations to make things fast and easy. I have a bad memory so I have tons of BASH aliases and .bashrc terminal

That is so strange. I worked in a mixed shop and all of us OSX people laughed our butts off when we did zoom and screen share with Windows guys as they took forever to do stuff we did almost instantly. I used Windows side-by-side with OSX f

Sorry mate but that is just wrong. I get payback of a hundred to one on most of my fiddly bits. A single command that does the ten things needed correctly every time instead of looking up each thing, typing it wrong four times and doing it

I had a document notarized and was amazed that the person only did the signature page. I could have easily swapped out the entire contract. I do not understand this. At least a digital signature let's you know what document was signed

Yes it's too complicated. It's horrible. It's the Windows of cloud services, surpassed in obscurity and nastiness only by Microsoft's own Azure, which is a nightmare. In both cases, the UI and UX designers should be shot

I just made a small thing that is thrilling me. It started because I wanted to be able to share a diagram on a whiteboard drawing site (whiteboardfox.com, nice service). I thought it would be cool if I could have a bookmarklet that saved th

This is not about kids. You are mentally ill in a serious way. The the therapy you have gotten so far is either incompetent or you are so sick that you need time in an institution where your tragedy can be treated seriously. I know a number

If you have a domain with Godaddy, you are going to get screwed. First, by their terrible service. Eventually, by their terrible policies. It's nice of you to provide an example. Now migrate to a decent registrar.

Nope. Not emacs vs vim. The biggest thing is what kind of music. Also, what kind of slang. I know this because I was young once, too. When I got a coworker who was twenty years older than me, it made me uncomfortable. Weird 'dad'

Come on people. This is ridiculous. If they had the perfect privacy policy, they could simply tell their clients to view a video that you have uploaded for them to see. Tik Tok is a dumpster fire but his is not interesting.

This article isn't talking about MVP. It's talking about fools who don't know what they are doing. MVP doesn't suggest that you don't know what you want to do but that you understand that you are wrong and that you

I did this on my workstation. I used it for a short while. Then I realized that I was actually putting a thing into the world that circumvents the entire security infrastructure of the world. Then I needed to do it for a server. Local only.
