I was a young person during the tube era. My dad was one of those guys with a bag full of tubes. The reason he was carrying them around was that NOTHING WORKED. The 'right to repair' was actually, a horrible 'burden of repair

I have not read anything more dumb than this in a long time. The article fundamentally says, "Print debugging is not as good as magical tools will be if anyone ever makes them." What's annoying is that he's wrong. Print

As the old guy here today, I'd like to add another note. Stop judging people. 'You' are not a good or bad anything. You do good or bad things. Some people here talk about knowing a bad programmer or project manager. You wil

Oh yeh!! Also, Trac. There is literally nothing good about that issue management program except that it is free. It is impossible to understand what you are looking at. It is just awful.

In my city, the programming unemployment rate is, like, 2%. If you haven't worked for awhile, it's because of your job hunting skills, not your tech stack. So, if having a job is reason you ask this, my answer is: read some books

You're right. That was too strongly said. Some people are naive or make a mistake. However, nobody I know lacks for emphatic instruction to never, ever click a link on an email. If your bank wants you to login, use your own bookmark.
