Yeah and now extend this idea to start a bounty of 100$ for the maintainer of a library/framework to merge your pull request, completely new ways for open sources projects to be paid for their hard work.

And as i said the rhel images for docker and supported packages in the registry is very very limited, you will miss a lot of packages.

How does rhel count these „up to 16 systems“? So if i am using 16 physical servers with at least two virtual vmware vms on each machine. Is that setup still 16 systems or do they count the number of virtual machines?

That is an interesting move. But with more and more organizations moving to dockerized services the real servers operating system is no longer that relevant. I do know that rhel provides free access to a subset of rhel packages for docker i

It would be nice to further analyse the merge factor: Very often there are a handfull maintainers but a bigger team working on the project (or close circle). It would be nice to cluster the prs by people (many prs, medium prs, few prs). Bec

Typical intel move. They start something and then kill it shortly after if the new product did not have the massive impact they hoped for. I would not be surprised if they kill the optane enterprise products or simply dont develop a new ver

I don‘t understand why debian wants to package nodejs libraries? There is already a package manager for nodejs. Why do they have to package it again? The same applies for php or python libraries, both ecosystems do have their own package ma

The biggest oppurtunity would be to allow assigning money for tasks and solutions. Like there are so many really good projects with a lot of open issues and good ideas on things to improve a library/framework/project. The ability

So the titan security keys sold which imply to be secure because they are from google and not that secure? Not secure enough enough to allow bounties for hacking? It's nice they have a secure chip (titan m) like the secure enclave of a

With a single bit flip on 8% of the dimms you only need 12.5 dimms in your workstation to have one bit flip every year. Not everyone has that much dimms, but at least 4 is pretty normal. So in average every 3 years for every workstation. Bu

If the company ranking results and selling these ad spaces are the same every decision will not be in case of advertisers/users. Google has long lost it‘s spirit and is only optimizing for money.

I don‘t get the problem. In germany you go to a desler and tell them you want this specific configuration, you sign a contract and 3-4 months later your specific build is delivered to the dealery.

You‘re right, i didn‘t see it like this. The current state of the web (past years) feels really like in the old times: many nagging „popups“ and despite using blocking solutions you cant get rid of all of them. Wikipedia is a good example:
