There's an independently made Reddit search that is leagues ahead of Reddit's own search: https://redditsearch.io/ It's made by the guy who runs pushshift.io - he does an incredible public service by archivin

On the flip side, nearly 100% of PoW mining hardware is manufactured in China. They could easily play geopolitical games with the west in that regard. There is also a very delicate game to play if you're trying to hack a crypto for you

Zuckerberg owns 30% of Facebook! And he stands to gain the most from Facebook earning profits!!! It's all a scam!! See how ridiculous it sounds?

Exactly. Ethereum users and miners legitimized the patched chain and that's what continued forward. A hacker minted free Bitcoin in 2010 and the chain forked to remove that transaction. But nobody's talking about that being a scam

Reddit must be spending 10s of millions of dollars a year with AWS. They're not about to boot them off without a court order.

As an avid StarCraft player I still think AlphaStar is one of the most impressive AI programs ever made. While it didn't get everything quite right, it exhibited planning and creativity in it's builds, and didn't just do the

Why does Backblaze even need Facebook integration anyway? That seems absurd to me.

That's awful. I hit my head in Thailand and went to the hospital, excellent experience I was in and out in 2 hours, got CT scanned and fully examined by a specialist, then left with a USB drive of my brain scans all for $180 out of poc

I was in Bangkok and at one of the largest electronics stores in Southeast Asia, that place put Fry's to shame. I think I spent an entire day in there.

Yep, at KnuEdge we built some processors with thousands of cores in that style architecture. It's a bit different to reason about but you can do a lot of wild computing that way. Too bad the company folded before any of our processors

I'd like to make PlunderCoin, basically the network sits computing EC public keys for all possible private keys and when it runs into a Bitcoin/ETH wallet with money in it, that gets liquidated and distributed to PlunderCoin holde

Government pay scales probably end up costing them more right now anyway. I would rather hire two software engineers at $250k/yr than ten software engineers at $60k/yr. Because those ten software engineers aren't going to pro

I'd love to see something like Uniswap for stocks. Essentially replacing the orderbook with an equation taking HFTs out of the equation and allowing regular users to make money providing liquidity.

Wasabi is about the cheapest out there. $5/TB/mo with no bandwidth charges. Backblaze is close in pricing and has a better reputation. I use both.
