Same here-- not on HN, but in real life. It seemed so obvious from the start that this was airborne and we can stop it with ventilation and masks. I actually helped start a mask distribution non-profit. But it became an uphill battle to edu

I'm building an invisible college in Berkeley and Hawaii, and happen to own the domain name: https://invisible.college . If anyone's interested in putting this domain to better use, please reach out!

Perhaps you're not aware that "fringe idea" is precisely the type of research that can turn out to usurp the mainstream and disrupt old paradigms. The idea that the earth travels around the sun was once a "fringe idea.&q

Oh hey, Mike Hearn! I've long been a fan of yours in Bitcoin. It's good to see you're interested in 'bad science' lately as well -- this is a topic I've also been working on for the last N years along with Bi

And to be complete, there are other ways that PoW blockchains can compete on energy efficiency: 1) Inflation rate 2) PoW function 3) Transaction cost after blocksize limit reached The inflation rate determines the incentive given to miner

As a Bitcoin miner ( https://toom.im ), while I appreciate the work put into it, this particular metric of "transactions per kW" might not work the way you expect. The main point that you should understand is that a PoW

A filtration constant can apply to poorly-fitted masks, too. They just have a smaller constant. The filtration constant for a well-sealed N95 can be 99.99%. The filtration constant for a thin cotton "face covering" can be 20%. T
