Its so interesting. If you follow dōgaz one more step you get to Proto-Indi-European dheg: (to burn). Origin of Latin “dies” is also from PIE but a different word: dyews: (sky, heaven). Interesting Latin dies (day) and deus (deity) are very

This is a tangent but it reminded me of Christopher Hitchens when he used to claim that waterboarding is not torture. He then subjected himself to waterboarding to prove that it's not torture and changed his mind in 5 seconds. Despite

Unfortunately, developers often write code in a framework they don't know well so they end up fighting the framework instead of using the niceties it provides. The end result being that the surface area of things that can go wrong actu

I agree. I enjoyed WC4 even though it went a bit overboard with fmv but the story held up and both Mark Hamill and Malcolm McDowell were amazing. The senate scene at the end when Tolwyn breaks is just great. Gameplay and story wise I really

This is my experience as well. I worked at 5 different companies in my career and at 3 of them nobody cared about reporting PTO. Now we have an “Unlimited PTO” policy and everybody on my team takes roughly a month off every year and nobody

What are you going to do with MBS that aggregated averaged a yield of 1.5% when anyone can get a risk free bond returning over 3% now? Who’s going to buy your mortgages?

Yeah this was bad. The main problem was that the actual simulation was being done on the servers, rather than on the client…for a single player game. I’m sure the development team knew everybody was going to hate that so it couldn’t have be

I cannot parse those 2 sentences at all. I'm not sure if it's trying to say something really clever and I'm not smart enough to get it or if it's BS pretending to be smart.
