This is my experience as well. I worked at 5 different companies in my career and at 3 of them nobody cared about reporting PTO. Now we have an “Unlimited PTO” policy and everybody on my team takes roughly a month off every year and nobody cares. This is in NYC. Not Silicon Valley but it seems culture is similar.
