When I was a teenager, my mum suggested I read Lord of the Rings. Or perhaps it was The Hobbit. Whatever. There were some guys on horses, and maybe a spider. That's all I remember. It was boring as fuck, and I gave up at about page 70,

As anybody that has spent any time navigating the roads can attest, that transformation is indeed precisely what actually happens.

Apparently it does not run Outrun 2! (I only have the JP version, which I assume will never work with my UK Xbox Series X, even if the UK version would actually be compatible. Maybe I need to dig it out of my garage and try it anyway.)

I agree. It's a disgrace. The Chinese people should be allowed to exercise their democratic prerogative without foreign interference.

The shortcut isn't shown though, possibly at least in part because it's not a shortcut to that option. Try selecting the Normal speed, then holding Ctrl, and activating the menu - note that the Normal speed is still highlighted. A

But people do argue for all of these things...? Anyway, clearly there's more than one way to deal with being vexed by what you read. A kind of exit/voice distinction.

Quite. And in fact, in this specific situation, in C++ you don't need to jump through any hoops at all, because you have the Rational class there already, ready for use. This whole business only exists to provide a C-friendly wrapper f

Indeed. It's super easy to create an opaque type in C: forward-declare a struct. So in the header: struct Rational2; struct Rational2 *make_rational(int,int); Then in the file: Rational2 *make_rational(int n,int d){

I was thinking you'd need it pasteable to pass it into sorted, but, yes, you could probably just evaluate it and then do sorted(_).

That's a good point. My assumption, not that I ever stated it, was that the list would be one you'd typed out yourself, or was one that was just there in code already, and you could verify by eye that it's just string literal

Org mode is recommended if you have tabular data, in case there are any Emacs users that still haven't tried it. (Which might sound ridiculous - but who knows? I still haven't used magit! I've been using Emacs since 2006.) Yo

Copy to clipboard, paste into your interactive Python window, and use as the argument to sorted. Copy and paste the interpreter's output back into your code.

If writing the low level gpu handling code, the easy cases to handle are the 100% constant data case and the 100% dynamic data case. Anything else counts as 100% dynamic, pretty much, and it's a pain to deal with because you also have

The Amiga had Caps Lock next to A. I've actually come to like Ctrl where it is on PCs. As it's in the corner, it's nice and easy to hit. I can sit my little finger on whichever one is convenient, then carry on typing much as

Wait, I thought the knowledge had been permanently destroyed? Forever lost, with no hope of ever figuring out whatever it was? Simply rediscovering what was previously known seems reasonably achievable!

If the foreigners can manage it, clearly there must be other ways of doing it, and they could be copied. The knowledge that has been permanently destroyed was not obviously vital.
