I'm using it (in a browser tab) and I still find it very slow. This is the reason that I don't enjoy using it and have not expanded my use of it.

This. On privacy and even moreso on security, Android can be very good or it can be terrible and the first, and perhaps most important, determinant of this is your choice of brand.

The only thing consistently better than that is insider info, which is very common and quite reliable.

There are plenty of companies in SV that are the opposite of cultish, eg. Google is known to try to be more like a university. (or it was at least, I think they are pulling back on that as their political problems mount.)

But we can take some action to make it economic to do so. For consumers, putting a price on carbon can make it simple and economic for them to chose greener options And for corporations, the EU has been working on various schemes to price c

Yes, I'm quite familiar with your record - you sell it endlessly. Your getting in early at Mozilla doesn't make up for the damage you've done to the web with Brave.

I'm not stupid: I'm not going to discard my judgement based on careful examination of independent parties in favour of how you want me to judge it. (Even if I hadn't seen that you are not trustworthy and will aggressively at

Yes, Mozilla is way better - the polar opposite really. Judge them on their record. Your not liking a company that is giving them money and Brave's actual record of being endlessly slimy and untrustworthy. Mozilla undermines Google at

I didn't think they did those anymore. True, though, they've tried endless very slimy business models - anything that works until they get caught or called out.

This issue of our data being bought and sold is a big issue, but nation states and some of the big tech companies don't do it. They simply have other objectives. It's the huge number of smaller companies (and your ISP probably) w

Not sure where you got the $800? The Boox has many different models so specifying a price without a model wouldn't make sense, so I assume you were referring to the RM2. The RM2 is US$400, which is expensive compared to e-readers, but

What about a 'remarkable'? A bit big for an eReader perhaps (10") but supports Epub and PDF, is a fairly open platform with lots of community activity and they are about to add the ability to sync with cloud services which I

Not sure it's reasonable to ask a for-profit company to do more than make it easily and fully changeable. Neither Microsoft nor Apple come close to that.

Not sure you can really blame android, when Android allows Firefox as a first class replacement for Chrome and with ease for the user, whereas iOS doesn't even allow the real Firefox. iOS is a very important platform for Firefox, so ap

And it's not just candy crush - there are many bloatware that it would let you uninstall and then silently reinstall them soon after. To me, that is a whole new level of slime. Even for Windows, that shocked me.

I find it brutally slow. At first I was a big fan but over time I've mostly stopped using it because I just couldn't stand how slow it is (using it in browser on a laptop). I hang on in the hopes they will address the problem.

That's why the web is so important. When the proprietary platforms get the upper hand you get eg. Apple taking a 50% cut off revenue in their news app.
