Cancelling all existing subscriptions seems extremely hostile. Imagine if you were a happy customer and suddenly Google rips the service away from you. This looks really bad for Google. I’m sure it was a mistake to handle it this way and I’

Hey and Basecamp pay the bills so that Rails can be what it is. I don’t mind a name drop. It couldn’t have been more subtle and it was actually very relevant. Didn’t seem like an ad to me.

I recently tried to build a relatively simple blog app with Vapor just to learn it. Once I got to trying to find third party libraries for things I needed it got very frustrating. I just needed to interact and generate a key using the AWS s

From my personal experience the engineers I’ve worked with who are using Go seem to prefer writing SQL. The community doesn’t seem to like using external libraries over the standard library. Not always but that seems to be the preference.

You can know where I work and get the safe version for each of my comments or not know where I work and get more truth. Most people are not trying to be completely anonymous but it’s different when you call out your employer in a comment. I

Last night I was thinking about why some people are fine and others are not. I had a random thought that is probably nonsense but here it is: when I get a cold I noticed that if I sleep on my back the mucous all drips down my throat and I e

Pretty rare to find someone who writes a lot of PHP without also writing a lot of JavaScript. If there are JavaScript engineers who’ve never touched PHP then they probably don’t have much feelings about it at all

I don’t find it offensive at all. I do, however, feel like the problems I worked on in many years of PHP were some of the least interesting projects of my career. It wasn’t the language’s fault necessarily but the types of things that langu

I don’t drink coffee for other reasons but I do buy a lot of dark chocolate. Is it a known fact that cocoa is run by child labor? Even fair trade premium brands like Taza? I’m asking because I will give it up if so. As for textiles, does th

I hate to admit it but I’m still struggling to understand why people would pay so much for NFTs. I feel like I fully understand what they are and why most people want me to believe it has value but I still don’t agree. I’m waiting for my mi

It isn’t hard to believe that someone who would take a prank this far under this context would have done something worthy of firing. I too wish I knew why because I assume it is probably also an amusing story.

What I like about the name R2 is the statement that they are aiming to make something better than S3. These are the kinds of competitions that benefit the consumers a ton. I don’t care who wins as long as things continue to get better.
