I don't like their assumption of 50% profit margin (including nothing but hardware). They have the manufacturing cost and the retail cost, why not use the american manufacturing cost to think up a real retail price?

Acta is a worldwide treaty that probably adds to the Bern convention's law nearly ten years ago. It's a global worry, the equivalents of the MPAA are probably lobbying for it in each country. Pcopa (or the better name I can't find that was

Is there any limit to what it does past this? If the intention is to fit in with the worldwide agreement by doing what you describe, it should be written in a way that it can't be used to extend Mickey Mouse's protection or something shortl

Often when other countries take the US's lead it's for an advantage, or by force (see Bush-Blair and the recent Spanish thing). I'd be interested to know what the international pressure people are doing now or after Sopa is abandoned, if th

Dropbox's idea of the cloud is file based. Apple's idea of the future of computing (iOS and iCloud) is no files, you just assume apps will use the cloud. It's clunky because it's not what we are used to, nor the app makers.

They have a uniquely high level of internal debtors, the government bonds were bought by Japanese people much more so than other citizens buying their countries' bonds. I didn't understand why this made a difference though.

It sounds like it is trying to make laws fuzzy, because you can't make it outright unbalanced to the copyright owners, but the same owners are lobbying for more law in their favour. Laws have been declined or overturned for being fuzzy, I h

Sopa isn't copyright enforcement, its so much more, it's all the weapons the content holders could ever wish for. Plus there's a certain amount of inevitable piracy. But mostly it's the bought-out politicians who are just trying/lying too h

Something will be centralized, a weak point politically. I'm surprised how quiet DARPA, CERN and Verisign have been so far, as they are very important. ISPs and Godaddy don't matter as much.
