This is because of the different service providers and the decentralization that is applied from within the government. It leads to inconsistency but it stops some of the mistakes that result from an overly centralized government.

There is always hate for the big player. In early Steve Jobs/Apple meetings their was a lot of hate for IBM. After some time the hate was reserved for Bill Gates/Microsoft. The latest enemy is Google.

The link shows purchase price, I like it. What is fails to show is fuel usage, operating costs, maintenance and all the other things that will bankrupt you if you aren't careful.

My local library has a lot of books available that I can just download and read on my Kindle. Don't want to pay $9 for a kindle book you will read once, get it from the library in 5 minutes for free. All you need is a library card.

Amazon is nowhere near the size of Walmart. Bezos doesn't have an end game, he'll just keep driving growth until he gets sick of it. Then they'll get Steve Balmer to make the growth stop :)

I can't begin to imagine what the ITC will do having been completely undermined by Obama. I wouldn't be surprised if Apple suffers from some international retaliation for this. Obama doesn't fully understand how commerce work

I tried using Uber to get To/From JFK a week ago. The cheapest fare on Uber was $98 one way. Car service is $40. Amazon and Google in a bidding war over Uber? Sounds like bullshit to me.

It would be nice if google provided free wifi to public libraries. The announcement talks about kids doing homework. They are more likely to be in the library or McDonalds than starbucks.
