You don’t have to use an exchange to send a cryptocurrency. I personally use them to buy crypto, but then I send my assets to a hardware wallet asap. From there, you can send it anywhere you’d like.

Really? I wasn’t aware you could send $1k for Pennie’s like you can with Bitcoin. Very cool!

Has that worked in the past? While they could obviously create their own fork, they can’t force people to actually use it.

In the USA? Not much. Bitcoin is a decent choice for sending your money across borders though! It could also be a gift if you think holding it long-term would be valuable. I remember my grandma buying me bank bonds as a kid for the same rea

Is Bitcoin worse for the environment than the banking sector? I know the banking sector handles more than just sending/receiving money (mortgages for example), but people act like the existing system is the poster child for the green m

I personally find Bitcoin much easier to send to family than a chunk of gold, and Bitcoin’s block reward results in a far more favorable inflation rate than many currencies. There’s more to money than these two aspects, but they are IMO sol

It depends on the movie. Friends might drop from Netflix, but there’s a lot of content being made that’s wholly owned by the streaming service itself that will stick around forever. Especially with Disney.

It was actually a solid education, but, in hindsight, I should have went to a more affordable college.

Related: I went to a private school and they required you to live on campus until you were a senior. Also: the namesake of the college owned the student housing so he was making serious money from all that forced rental income.

I think employers should strive for flexibility. My employer allows full remote, but flies us in twice a year for what mostly boils down to “team building.” More local employees have the option to go into the office as much/little as t

I have a bit to go before I’m a software engineer over fifty, but I have a lot of anxiety about it primarily from an ageism standpoint. I don’t really want to go into management because I love coding and solving problems, but I fear that on

That’s true, but people saying “look at your raise as a percentage, it’s huge” is wildly misleading when we are talking about using that money to actually live your life. People at the bottom are still suffering, even if their raise was a r

There’s definitely a lot of variables that I’m sure I won’t appreciate until I am living this self-driving taxi experience, but I wouldn’t be selling my personal vehicles the moment such a service became available to me. I would finish out

Thank you for this take. I don’t live in California, but most of my family has this attitude of “California is the worst! Look how expensive it is.” It seems as if supply and demand has decided it’s a great place to live. Edit: Not sure why

I’m hoping that by excluding the human labor costs I will save some money, but we will see. It would also be nice to not have to have that awkward taxi conversation every time I go to the store.

I think it goes both ways and we won’t know for sure until it comes to fruition. Personally, I hate owning vehicles and desperately want a self-driving taxi service that I can order via an app to get me and my family around.

It seems like Bitcoin’s low rate of inflation and Lightning Network could make it a decent store of value and means of payment, but we will see if that actually happens.
