It’s not the same situation, but most video games I will wait a year or two to purchase. $70 day one, or $20 on Black Friday a year from now with all the DLC included?

There’s no denying that people “hodling” projects like “DickCoin” are probably having a bad time. I’d suspect that people who invested in more sound projects (Bitcoin and Ethereum, for example) might do just fine in a few years.

Perhaps. I’m guessing that the sting will wear off and newcomers will venture into crypto sometime in the future. I personally view these crashes as a necessary cleansing since so many scam/meme projects get created every go around.

“Crypto sucks. This is proof.” Exchanges going under proves that people are greedy and/or stupid, but it doesn’t inherently mean every crypto project is bad. It doesn’t seem like people holding their own keys are having a bad time righ

I don’t feel like either of you are wrong. We have made amazing cultural advances while also taking steps backwards. I love the internet (and technology in general), but at what point do we say enough is enough when you address the points t

Gutting the downtowns of major cities perhaps. I personally think that remote work will be a bit of an equalizer that’ll allow more people to live in more affordable areas of the country. While it’s not glamorous, my hometown has 3,000 sqft

Exactly. I get how having the latest and greatest would be ideal, but scoffing at 4nm seems silly to me.

I have a friend who gets irrationally angry about stuff like this. “People should just do their own research!” I’d like to think I’m of above average intelligence and I have no idea how I would ever go about verifying the safety of every it

While I don’t feel like being a lifer is bad, I agree that OPs interpretation that this post might be a coping mechanism has some validity. I say this as someone who has done some serious coping with previous jobs.

I went on a cruise and met some Canadians (they told me). I noticed they were speaking French and said “Is that French you’re speaking?” “Yes.” “That’s really cool! What part of Canada are you from?” “The part that speaks French.” I just fr

I’m all for a shorter workweek, but I definitely expect that the social aspect of a job is good for overall productivity. Maybe I’m weird, but I enjoy asking my coworkers how their weekend was prior to a meeting starting or (back when I was

Hideously expensive? I sent a decent chunk earlier for (allegedly) only $0.75. I agree with your timeframe argument, but the price of these transactions aren’t always that bad.

Depending on the situation, I can sometimes operate the U-scan and bag faster than a traditional checkout lane (especially considering the longer wait time for the two open lanes). I worked for quite a few years as a cashier though.

This. I get that prices in many metros are still too high for your average earner, but I don’t understand how people can compare the price of housing in LA to a place like Indianapolis.

I love that we can get day one patches that make games better, but it’s infuriating when games like Call of Duty are sold physically with a disc that’s essentially empty and they just tell you to go download the game. I don’t think it’s act

Exactly this. It’s not enough to take over the world. Growth isn’t enough. The rate of growth must grow as well. I was happy to see another buying opportunity, but I definitely rolled my eyes at Wall Street’s overreaction.

It’s always bothered me when people end their argument with something along the lines of “disagreeing with me makes you bad.” It immediately shuts down opposing thought without even giving someone a chance.
